Game developer Rocksteady and Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment have been relatively mysterious about the upcoming sequel to the popular Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City games, but fans can at least get seeming confirmation that the new game will be out sometime later this year...

When last we heard, Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment and Rocksteady were working on some kind of Batman: Arkham Asylum/City prequel set in the Silver Age that dealt, in part, with Batman's first meeting with the Joker. There was also a hint that Bats would potentially be interacting with Superman and the Justice League, to some extent...

With Batman donning a new suit that stores and releases kinetic energy in the Wii U ported Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition, it only seems fair that his playable co-star Catwoman might also stand to upgrade her tech, right? Given the news that the "Batman: Arkham Aslyum" sequel will be Mark Hamill's final hurrah providing the voice of the Joker, it's somewhat difficult to get excited about the critically acclaimed video game franchise, no matter how awesome it is...
