Let's Go! Soul Resonance!: Should You Be Reading Soul Eater?
When you look at the sheer range and number of original stories being told in comics form today, it’s hard to imagine a better time to be a comics reader. Online and in print, from all around the world, artists and writers are telling stories with their own voices and styles, and there’s so much to choose from that it’s sometimes difficult to know what to read next. With Should I Be Reading… ?, ComicsAlliance hopes to offer you a guide to some of the best original ongoing comics being published today. There's no shortage of death in comics, whether as a marketing gimmick, all-consuming evil to beat, or wonderful guide to the afterlife. But aside from that last bit, death is rarely portrayed as something good. That's where Atsushi Ōkubo's Soul Eater stands out: by making the Grim Reaper a job in training at a Hogwarts-esque academy for superpowered teens who are earnest, goofy, sometimes not that smart but, in the end, heroic.

Kiyohiko Azuma's 'Yotsuba&!' Is Returning To Paperback
If you're like me, then every now and then, you'll look wistfully over at your bookshelf and wonder when, when the next volume of Kiyohiko Azuma's Yotsuba&! will finally be released. It is, after all, one of the most charming comics of all time, the story of a wide-eyed young girl who moves to a new town and manages to find adventure around every corner with her neighbors and her dad --- and, y'know, occasionally pretends to be an assassin sent to kill them with a water pistol. But now, after almost three years, it looks like our nightmare might be over: Yotsuba&! vol. 13 finally has a release date. The only problem is that it's for the Japanese version.

The Twilight Manga Sparkles On With New Images
Last week's announcement that Yen Press would publish a manga-style adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" series of novels may not inspire much confidence in the old school comics crowd (i.e. the lads and ladies older than 15), but fans of the series will be relieved to hear that the adaptation will have author Stephenie Meyer's seal of approval...

‘Twilight’ Headed to Manga, Comic-Con
The "Twilight" book series, which spawned a movie franchise, a tourist hot spot, and several million screaming fangirls will soon be adapted into manga, which makes a lot of sense. Shoujo is full of star-crossed lovers, wish-fulfillment fantasies, and pseudo-goth aesthetics, so I'm thinking manga will be right up the alley of many "Twilight" fans...
