That didn't last long. Though Scott Lobdell and Tyler Kirkham's Teen Titans run will conclude this month with issue #30 on April 23 and in the Teen Titans Annual #3 on April 30, DC will relaunch the title in July. Helming the relaunch is writer Will Pfeifer with Teen Titans Annual #3 artist Kenneth Rocafort, which should bridge the storylines, to an extent, with some visual continuity.

Pfeifer and Rocafort both come to the title fresh off of Red Hood and the Outlaws, a book that stars many characters associated with the Titans prior to DC's line-wide "New 52" reboot in 2011 and also in multimedia such as DC Nation's successful Teen Titans Go! animated series.

The book's new lineup will initially consists solely of Red Robin, Wonder Girl, Raven, Bunker and Beast Boy. When asked about the absence of characters from the Flash and Superman families on the team in an interview with Newsarama, Pfeifer explained "we probably should be saying is 'There’s no teen hero from the Superman family or the Flash family – yet.' Something is in the works, but I don’t think it’s along the lines of what anyone is expecting."

Pfeifer also explained that with the book's new #1 comes a new direction and new themes, and that it isn't just a continuation of the previous series. The book will, however, still be affected by DC's Forever Evil and Futures End events.

Teen Titans #1 is due out in July.
