The Birds and the Gotham police attempt to save a mafia informant from his former gang in the action movie-style car chase/shootout that opens the second issue of Batgirl And The Birds Of Prey #2, written by Julie Benson and Shawna Benson, with art by Claire Roe.

The issue continues the story of the team's search for the new villain who has stolen Batgirl's previous identity of Oracle --- and the mafia guy is their only lead.

Seeing a costumed Batgirl in the passenger seat next to her dad Jim Gordon is a little unusual, and seeing her aim a shotgun is that much weirder (even if it's trained on a tire). On the other hand, Black Canary using her sonic canary cry to stop multiple vehicles in their tracks is pretty awesome, and the "Huntress, please don't kill anybody" chorus is pretty standard for this group.

The issue features covers by Yanick Paquette and Karmome Shirahama, and comes out September 14. Check out an exclusive preview below:

Here's the official word from DC:

“WHO IS ORACLE?” part 3! Batgirl, Black Canary, and Huntress must team up with the GCPD to protect a mafia capo from an attack by his one-time friends! He’s the only man with a lead on the nefarious new Oracle…but dead men tell no tales! Of course, it’s hard to make a team-up work when the team’s ready to tear itself apart on its first mission!
