‘Black Panther’ Set Photos and Video Tease a Fast and Furious South Korea Chase
At this point, you could probably use the MCU to delineate the passage of time. For instance, in just one more Marvel movie it’ll be summertime, and we only have two more Marvel movies until Black Panther arrives. As we anxiously await T’Challa’s first solo film, new photos and video from the South Korea set have landed online, teasing a big chase sequence in which the hero rides atop a sports car. That series of words is definitely exciting.
As previously reported, Black Panther features an elaborate chase scene set in South Korea, where fans shared some photos and videos from the sidelines. You can see the eponymous Marvel hero (played by Chadwick Boseman) sporting a very cool action pose on top of a car, which isn’t moving that fast, but will likely be sped-up and stylized in post-production:
That looks more like Fast and Furious than Game of Thrones — the latter of which is what co-star (and recent Get Out lead) Daniel Kaluuya compared Black Panther to in a recent interview.
Ryan Coogler (Creed) is directing Black Panther, which also stars Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Danai Gurira, Sterling K. Brown, Martin Freeman and Andy Serkis. Here’s the official synopsis:
Black Panther follows T’Challa, who, after the events of Captain America: Civil War, returns home to the isolated, technologically-advanced African nation of Wakanda to take his place as King. However, when an old enemy reappears on the radar, T’Challa’s mettle as King and Black Panther is tested when he is drawn into a conflict that puts the entire fate of Wakanda and the world at risk.
Black Panther hits theaters on February 16, 2018.
