If you haven't heard of Scottish synthpop band CHRVCHES, you've been missing out on not only some of the best tunes of the past few years, but some of the best music videos too. Their newest video for their song "Bury It" --- from the album Every Open Eye --- has a cool connection to comic books as it was directed by Young Avengers and The Wicked + The Divine artist Jamie McKelvie.

The video --- made as part of a collaboration with Australian animation studio Mighty Nice --- sees McKelvie's art come to life like never before. It features the band --- comprised of Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook and Martin Doherty --- testing out superpowers on the roof of a skyscraper, and as they come to grips with the Force-like abilities, Hayley Williams of Paramore appears for the song's second verse to show the band how it's really done.

This isn't anywhere near the first time that CHVRCHES and McKelvie have collaborated, as the artist has been designing prints and tour posters for them for several years. His ability to capture the real world and infuse it with fantastical elements has always made his art a perfect fit for the band, and the video just takes that to the next logical step.

If you dug the song and want to check out more CHVRCHES, you really should because there aren't many bands making that kind of uplifting snythpop (plus they're one of my favorite bands). Also, a lot of people wrote Paramore off a while back, but their most recent self-titled album is really good and you should check that out too.
