DC Executive Editor Dan DiDio Will Pen a Monthly Comic By Year’s End

Following his stint on "Metal Men" in "Wednesday Comics," DC Comics' Senior Vice President - Executive Editor Dan DiDio says he'll have his name on a regular title in the coming months.

Blog@ broke down Ain't It Cool's Comic-Con interview with DiDio, who promised more writing by the end of 2009.

"Yeah, I'll give you a scoop. I'll give you a spoiler. You know what, I had so much fun writing 'Metal Men' that I'm actually going to be taking over a monthly title coming up at the end of the year," said DiDio.

There's no word on which title DiDio will write, but the key inference fans can make is that the book is an existing title and a monthly -- not a limited series, one-shot or annual. It's also worth noting that "taking over" a title sounds like more of a commitment than writing a few fill-in issues.

Could the mega event-minded DiDio be planting the seeds of DC's next crossover from the inside of a title? He's probably too busy for that, but it's something to think about.
