Launching in June is Eldritch!, a charmingly insane and drawn serialized graphic novel that's already been vetted for consumption by our webcomics-reading peers. Created by Drew Rausch (Cthulhu Tales, Disney's Haunted Mansion) and Aaron Alexovich (Fables, Confessions of a Blabbermouth, Avatar: The Last Airbender), Eldritch! was the winner of the final Zuda webcomics competition before DC Comics shuttered that digital imprint. The creators have pressed on with the work and will release the story in 24-page installments that can be obtained and enjoyed in virtually every digital format imaginable, all for $0.99 an issue. Below you can check out a nine-page preview of Eldritch!, which we can accurately describe as a teenage sibling rivalry tale set against the backdrop of the most important conflict in human existence, that of science vs. the supernatural.

Eldritch! stars the Sobczek siblings Anya and Owen, whose rivalry is represented in their chosen philosophical interests. Spirited and brash, Anya is obsessed with the concept of reason and demonstrates her belief in science by decorating her body with a tattoo of Charles Darwin, who she sees as mankind's greatest hero. Introverted and quiet, Owen prefers matters of myth and legend. Their conflict becomes complicated when strange, beast-like tentacles start emerging from Owen's body in a way a crazy/funny/horrifying way that's reminiscent of Jhonen Vasquez's Invader Zim, the animated series which Eldritch! co-creator Alexovich also worked on.

Although Zuda Comics is no more, Eldritch! remains firmly a part of the digital comics landscape. Alexovich and Rausch will release all six chapters of the book for $0.99 each beginning in June, and across what the official press release describes as "every digital device known to God, Man, and Shoggoth alike, including your desktop, iPad/iPod/iPhone, Android, Nook, Kindle, and eNecronomicon (pending)."
