Given the overwhelmingly positive reaction to early screenings of X-Men: First Class, it's no wonder 20th Century Fox has taken some bold promotional steps and released more footage and other material from the film, which is of course based on the beloved Marvel Comics superheroes. This week the studio released not one, not two, not three but actually four new scenes from X-Men: First Class, each showcasing a different character and demonstrating the cinematic coolness of their mutant powers. You can check them out after the jump.Coolest among the new batch of clips from X-Men: First Class is this one featuring January Jones as Emma Frost, who director Matthew Vaughn has obviously likened to Sharon Stone's famous femme fatale from Basic Instinct. The other clips highlight the nefarious Sebastian Show (Kevin Bacon), Magneto & Mystique (Michael Fassbender & Jennifer Lawrence), and a number of Chales Xavier's first students learning to use their abilities.

Starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, January Jones, Kevin Bacon and Oliver Platt, X-Men: First Class opens June 3.

X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men.
