This week the comics community was saddened to learn of the passing of Josh Medors. The 36-year-old artist had contributed to such comic books as 30 Days of Night, Frank Frazetta's Swamp Demon, Criminal Macabre: A Cal McDonald Mystery, Fused: Think Like a Machine and G.I. Joe: America's Elite, but his promising career's ascension was interrupted by a rare form of spinal cancer. Over the years numerous benefits and fundraisers were organized to help Medors -- who also founded the Help for Heroes charity, which raises money to help creators battling cancer -- demonstrating the comics community's commitment to its own and the affection Medors himself endeared in others.

Medors is survived by his wife Charlotte and their son Garth.
