In America, July 4th is a good day to fulfill the destiny of so much combustible powder and cardboard. In Japan, however, New Year's Eve and basically the entire month of August are the designated prime time for firework displays. It being the birthplace of Pokemon, Japan's been the host of numerous Pocket Monster-themed displays in recent years, especially as multi-break shell technology has allowed for increasingly complex explosive illustrations to light up the night sky. Yes, that means Pikachu's face and Pokeballs of all flavors going boom! before your trainer eyes.
