Starz ‘American Gods’ Invites You to Worship These New Cast Posters
The jury’s still out on whether Starz and Bryan Fuller’s American Gods can translate author Neil Gaiman’s bestseller, but my, if they don’t at least make a pretty cast. See for yourself in a new gallery of posters for the April premiere, featuring Shadow Moon, Bilquis, Mr. World and more.
Following the most recent trailer, showrunner Bryan Fuller shared a new “OMG” round of American Gods posters, featuring the (almost) full roster of Shadow Moon, Mr. Wednesday, Laura Moon, Bilquis, Mr. Nancy, Mad Sweeney, the Technical Boy, Easter, Czernobog and Mr. World. Missing from the lineup are Gillian Anderson’s Media and a few others, but suffice to say, there’s plenty to discover by actually watching.
For those unfamiliar with Sandman creator Neil Gaiman’s novel, so reads the Starz American Gods synopsis:
“American Gods” posits a different kind of war brewing—one between Old Gods and New. The traditional Old Gods, with mythological roots from around the world, fear irrelevance as their believers die off or are seduced by the money, technology, and celebrity offered by the New Gods. Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) is an ex-con who, left adrift by the recent death of his wife, becomes bodyguard and traveling partner to conman Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane). But in truth, Mr. Wednesday is a powerful old deity, on a cross-country mission to build an army and reclaim his lost glory.
In addition to Corbin Bernsen as Vulcan, Kristin Chenoweth as Easter, Pablo Schreiber as Mad Sweeney, Gillian Anderson as Media, Crispin Glover as Mr. World, Orlando Jones as Mr. Nancy, Dane Cook as Robbie, Jonathan Tucker as Low-Key Lyesmith, Yetide Badaki as Bilquis and Bruce Langley as “Technical Boy,” Gods features The 100 star Ricky Whittle as Shadow Moon, Ian McShane as Mr. Wednedsay and Emily Browning as Shadow’s wife Laura Moon.
We’ll likely see more soon, but watch the first American Gods trailers below, and stay tuned for the April 30 premiere.
