The documentary "Confessions of a Superhero" introduced the world to the costumed heroes of Hollywood Boulevard -- most of them aspiring actors who take pictures with tourists for money while dressed as characters like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. Well, hard times have come to the heroes of Hollywood, as a recent crackdown has cleared the costumed performers from the street where they had become something of an institution.

Check out a local news clip after the jump, which painfully describes the new law as a "Zorro Tolerance Policy," and says that eight costumed performers were arrested last weekend. One performer, Christopher Dennis, who appeared dressed as Superman in "Confessions," speaks in the clip about how barren Hollywood Boulevard feels now without its heroic panhandling defenders.
