The Best There Is: Aquaman Vs. Cyclops
The Best There Is: Aquaman Vs. Cyclops
The Best There Is: Aquaman Vs. Cyclops
They're perhaps the two most commonly mocked heroes of their respective fictional universes; DC's Aquaman, created by Mort Weisinger and Paul Norris in 1941, and Marvel's Cyclops, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1963. One is the stalwart ruler of an underwater kingdom; the other is the redoubtable leader of a group of outcast mutants. They're both heroes who have overcome great obstacles, lived extraordinary tales, fought terrible villains, and experienced remarkable romances. To some fans, they're incredibly cool. To others, they're irredeemably dorky, perhaps especially in contrast to their more beloved colleagues like Batman and Wolverine. In fact, some comics fans would say that Arthur Curry is the worst. Others would say the same about Scott Summers. Today we're asking you to decide... which of them is the best?

Stacey Lee Can Even Make That Jerk Cyclops Look Kinda Cool
Cyclops is the absolute worst. He's a bad husband, a bad father, a bad leader, and his whole deal is acting like the king of the martyrs around people who have it so much worse than him. Oh no, do you have to wear glasses all the time, Cyclops? I can't imagine what that must feel like! Cyclops is so bad that even when he becomes a villain, he's the most boring villain on his island. Cyclops is so bad that there's a petition to transfer him to the DC Universe so that Aquaman can feel cooler than someone. On the other hand, Stacey Lee is the best. Propelled to fans' attention thanks to her amazing work on Silk with writer Robbie Thompson, she's fast proved be one of the best new superhero artists in the business. She's so good, she can even make Cyclops look like a badass on her variant cover for Secret Wars #7 by Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic, out next week.
Fantastic Five: Most Underrated X-Men

Fantastic Five: Most Underrated X-Men
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from our years on the Internet, it’s that there’s no aspect of comics that can’t be broken down and quantified in a single definitive list, preferably in amounts of five or ten. And since there’s no more definitive authority than ComicsAlliance, we’re taking it upon ourselves to compile Top Five lists of everything you could ever want to know about comics. This week we’re counting down the top five most underrated X-Men! Since 1963, Marvel’s merry mutants have gained an astonishing following by mixing the potent combination of soap opera style melodrama, the alienation of being “different”, and crazy super-powers. Then the 90s and 2000s saw an even bigger explosion in their popularity with the success of multiple cartoons and some movies you may have seen, that introduced the gifted youngsters (and oldsters) of Professor Xavier’s school to an even wider audience. But even with all that real world popularity, there are still a few X-Characters that just never seem to get the kudos they deserve. Quick apology to some of the newer X-Men: Sorry, newbies, you need a few more years of being feared, hated, and undervalued to beat these… winners?

Poll: Best and Worst Comic Book Romances, Round IV

Poll: Best and Worst Comic Book Romances, Round IV
From Wally West and Linda Park, to Harley Quinn and Mistah J, we're asking you to vote on comics' most famous couples so we can determine the best (and worst) romantic partnerships that comics have to offer. If you think the couple is meant to be, vote 'True Love.' If you think they've got unstable chemistry and can only end badly, vote 'Bad Romance.' In today's polls, we trace a course from one storm to another through several Marvel characters. Some of these relationships led to big weddings, some led to bigger breakups, some were rebounds and some were affairs (or could be affairs). But are they true love, or a bad romance?

Exploring The Father/Son Dynamic In 'Cyclops: Starstruck'
Starstruck, the first trade of the new Cyclops series, which collects the whole Greg Rucka, Russell Dauterman and Carmen Carnero run with the character, sidesteps the adult revolutionary version of Cyclops, who is currently proving to be the only acceptable mutant leader in the Marvel Universe right now – to focus on the teenaged version of his past self. You see, at the start of All-New X-Men, Beast wrecked the timestream (in classic awful Beast fashion because he’s the worst) by bringing teenaged versions of the original five X-Men into the present day, basically so he could try out a guilt-trip on their present-day versions. This has caused countless problems and a lot of angst, which recently culminated with the young version of Cyclops deciding to race off into space for some quality time with his dad… who just so happens to be a notorious intergalactic outlaw pirate with rad facial hair. Probably the right choice.

The X-Men Episode Guide 5x08: Storm Front, Part Two
The early ’90s were spoiled for choice when it came to comic book adaptations. Not only was Batman: The Animated Series on the air, but X-Men led Marvel’s push to get on the small screen, diving right into the often convoluted continuity of everyone’s favorite mutants, luring in a generation of fans, and paving the way for cartoons to follow. That’s why we’ve set out to review every single episode of the ’90s X-Men animated series. This week, the final season continues with the long-awaited wedding of Arkon and Storm! Wait, what?
