Devastator Press is releasing The Official Handbook Of The Bowieverse, a minicomic that riffs on the numerous characters and personas that Bowie created, in a format that pays affectionate tribute to the classic Marvel Comics Official Handbook and DC Who's Who series of the 1980s. Moonage Daydream is an art exhibition that describes itself as an "illustrated tribute" to David Bowie. Twenty-one artists from comics and beyond have taken on 21 different albums or singles, creating new cover art inspired by the music. That includes Iain Laurie of And Then Emily Was Gone covering Scary Monsters, Marc Laming of Planet Hulk tackling Station to Station, and Jamie Coe of Art Schooled taking on Changes.

Image Comics' Nowhere Men is one of the most talked-about series of the last few years, but public opinion is fickle. A pop-sci fi tour de force by Eric Stephenson, Nate Bellegarde, Jordie Bellaire, and Fonografiks, it quickly gathered critical acclaim and a handful of Eisner nominations before --- just as quickly --- effectively disappearing. Now, more than two years since the last issue, the series is finally returning, with Nowhere Men #7 landing this Wednesday, January 20. In advance of the return, Eric Stephenson spoke with ComicsAlliance about the delay, the comeback, new artist Dave Taylor, and taking inspiration from David Bowie.

The world was stunned and saddened when news broke late Sunday night that iconic rock star David Bowie had passed away at the age of 69 after an 18 month secret battle with cancer. Coming just two days after his birthday, and the release of what would be his final album, Blackstar, the news of his passing seemed especially shocking. It has since been confirmed that the timing of the release was very intentional on Bowie’s part, with the album being his final parting gift to his fans. In admiration of David Bowie's boundless inspiration, we've showcased just a small sample of the countless creative works made in his honor.
