'Wonder Woman' Loses Director Michelle MacLaren
This was a possibility from the beginning, but it doesn’t make the news any less difficult to swallow (or any less infuriating): Michelle MacLaren has departed Warner Bros. and DC’s Wonder Woman movie due to “creative differences,” and it’s not the first time a female director has left a project over such differences in recent memory (remember Patty Jenkins and Thor: The Dark World?).

'Wonder Woman' to Begin Shooting This Fall
Last we heard, Warner Bros. hadn’t yet officially given the Wonder Woman solo film the green light, which wasn’t entirely surprising given that a script wasn’t firmly in place. But this weekend brought good news on the Wonder Woman front: shooting will begin this fall for the hero’s upcoming solo adventure, with — as previously confirmed — Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad vet Michelle MacLaren in the director’s chair.

Following the recent announcement that Warner Bros. has hired the awesomely talented Michelle MacLaren to direct the first ‘Wonder Woman’ solo film, we also learned that the studio was close to hiring ‘Pan’ screenwriter Jason Fuchs to pen the script. But now it seems that Fuchs may not be the only screenwriter on the project (if he’s still involved at all): rumor has it that WB has hired a total of six writers to deliver six different scripts. Stop scratching your head so much, you’ll make a bald spot.

There’s some maybe not-so-great news here to report: the ‘Wonder Woman’ film is reportedly in negotiations with a screenwriter following the hiring of director Michelle MacLaren. And although we had our fingers crossed that WB would also hire a woman to script the film, their screenwriter of choice is Jason Fuchs, who is, as you may have guessed, a dude. He’s also responsible for the screenplay for the upcoming ‘Pan’ movie, which doesn’t seem very promising. But there’s still hope! Don’t feel too bad yet!

'Wonder Woman' Officially Hires Michelle MacLaren to Direct!
A few weeks ago we reported that ‘Breaking Bad’ director and producer Michelle MacLaren was in talks to take the helm on WB’s ‘Wonder Woman’ film, which was incredibly exciting news on its own. Today brings word that MacLaren has officially signed on to not only direct, but also formally develop the film, working with the writers to bring the iconic superhero to the big screen in her own solo movie.

Rumor: WB Wants Michelle MacLaren for 'Wonder Woman'
In what is probably the best rumor of the week already, WB has apparently got their collective studio eyes on Michelle MacLaren to direct their upcoming 'Wonder Woman' movie. MacLaren is best known for her work on television, where she's directed some of the most riveting episodes of 'Breaking Bad' and 'Game of Thrones,' so she knows a thing or two about action and what makes for a compelling, complex character.
