You gotta give the fans what they want.

And when it comes to the Asgard of Marvel's Cinematic Universe fans want Tom Hiddleston's Loki. Perhaps as a salve to fans begrudged by the news that Hiddleston won't be appearing in Joss Whedon's Avengers: The Age of Ultron, director Alan Taylor is shooting additional scenes for Thor: The Dark World prominently featuring everyone's favorite trickster god.

In an interview with Collider, Taylor offered up some details:

We’re doing full scenes, scenes that were not in the movie before. We’re adding scenes, creating scenes, writing scenes for the first time. We realized how well Loki was working in the movie, and we wanted to do more with him. So it was that kind of thing, it was like, ‘Oh, we could do this, we could jam this in here because he’s such a wonderful guy to watch do his stuff.’

The Dark World's last-minute reshoots put it in the same company as The Avengers and Iron Man 3, both of which shot new scenes just weeks before their release.

Thor: The Dark World opens November 8.
