Here at ComicsAlliance, we try to do our best to not be the kind of news outlet that just runs press releases, but occasionally, we come across something we feel our readers need to know about.

Such is the case with a press releas that arrived in my inbox last night, courtesy of Wizard Entertainment CEO Gareb Shamus. I hadn't gotten one from the folks at Wizard in a while -- not even when they announced that they were canceling publication of Wizard and ToyFare magazines -- so I figured that this missive, which came under the subject line "A Hot NEW Book - Special Message!" must be super-important.

And it was. Because Gareb Shamus wants to change your life...

...through the power of Comic Sans. And believe it or not, it only gets better from there. Check out the whole hilarious press release after the jump. Before I get to the actual press release, I just want to point out that the use of Comic Sans -- that eternal scourge of people with eyes -- by a dude who actually used to publish a magazine about comic books is amazing. If only he hadn't fired all of his graphic designers last month.

But that's only the tip of the iceberg. The real hilarity comes once you see what the press release is actually about:

That's right everybody: Gareb Shamus wants to share the secret of achieving your goals through the power of story, and when the man behind the International Fight League wants to give you tips on how to achieve your dreams by self-actualizing your paradigm potential, you listen.

Especially when you're being invited to "soak up the wisdom" of how to empower yourself in an email advertising upcoming convention appearances by Adam West and Bring It On's Clare Kramer.

Even better, you can learn how to use the hidden power of storytelling to get others to do your viral marketing for you, which -- wait. This press release is so horrible that I had to share it, thus spreading awareness of the book, which means I'm doing the viral marketing for them.

Holy crap, it actually works!

I'll admit, I had my doubts when this whole thing started, but it just goes to show that when it comes to leadership, motivation and excitement, you just can't beat the man who founded a publishing empire, and then subsequently transformed it into what is essentially a traveling carnival.
