‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Is Filming in 3D, Plus Check Out Olivia Munn Showing Off Her Psylocke Skills
Most of our updates on X-Men: Apocalypse have been coming from Instagram as of late, with director Bryan Singer providing set photos and teasing out various characters and their stories (Storm’s origins, Angel hanging out in a Berlin fight club). The latest updates from the set feature Olivia Munn practicing Psylocke’s sweet sword skills, as well as confirmation that the film is shooting in 3D.
Via Slashfilm, someone who appears to be involved with Munn’s training on set posted a series of videos showing off the actress’ moves:
One of the objects Munn appears to be holding is a triangular weapon, likely Psylocke’s psychic knife — in the comics, this weapon channels all of her psychic force. You can also get a good look at her colorful sword in this photo:
In addition, Singer posted this photo of former ‘NSYNC member J.C. Chasez (yeah, I don’t know either) holding the 3D camera they’re using to shoot X-Men: Apocalypse:
The upcoming sequel is set in the ‘80s and focuses primarily on the First Class cast, with Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult reprising their roles alongside newcomers Munn, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Ben Hardy and Lana Condor. Oscar Isaac is taking on the role of the villainous Apocalypse, who may very well be the oldest — and most dangerous — mutant on the planet.
X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
