Abigail L. Dela Cruz Draws Luminous Spirits Who Play with Koi and the Moon [Art]
A couple of weeks ago, we showed you Abigail L. Dela Cruz's fabulous retro Sailor Moon designs. But Dela Cruz also plays with her own original characters and those of her fellow artists working online. Among her most striking characters are a serene koi spirit and a fox spirit who loves to toy with the moon.
Certainly Dela Cruz's use of color and light is quite striking, giving her characters a digital divinity, but her Moon Fox illustrations in particular also have a wonderful narrative quality to them. The character's expressions come through with a tilt of his head and his mask. You can follow her work on Tumblr and deviantART.
