The Flash’ was more than happy to share secrets of his 2015 return recently, but ‘Arrow’ teasers following midseason 3 finale “The Climb” have been much more secretive on Oliver Queen’s future. No longer, as the latest trailer for the Emerald Archer’s 2015 return brings the rise of a Canary, the birth of an A.T.O.M., and even a Brick for good measure! Plus…could a certain pit lie in Oliver Queen’s future?

You’re warned of potential spoilers for ‘Arrow’ season 3, especially its initial 2015 episodes, but as Malcolm Merlyn puts it (bluntly) in the latest trailer, “Oliver Queen is dead.” The newest preview for the January 21 premiere seemingly paints John Barrowman’s character as the figure approaching Oliver’s lifeless body after the battle with Ra’s al Ghul, while the rest of the brief spot highlights the team’s efforts to pick up slack against the rise of Vinnie Jones’ DC villain Brick, including Laurel’s ascension to Canary status, and Ray Palmer testing the A.T.O.M. suit.

And if that weren’t exciting enough for DC fans, Stephen Amell’s Facebook page cryptically shared some telling fan art that evokes Ra’s al Ghul’s infamous “Lazarus Pits” as explanation of Oliver’s assured survival:

Granted, Amell commented further down the post that “Haha. Ya… I’m just giving away spoilers for the show on my page. Have I ever done that? OF COURSE NOT. This is just phenomenal fan art.” In any case, so reads ‘Arrow’'s official description of January 21 return episode “Left Behind”:

THE TEAM DEALS WITH OLIVER’S DISAPPEARANCE — In the aftermath of Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) fight with Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Nable), Diggle (David Ramsey) and Arsenal (Colton Haynes) continue to protect the city in the Arrow’s absence. However, after three days without hearing from Oliver, they begin to fear the worst may have happened to their friend. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) refuses to believe that Oliver could be dead until Merlyn (John Barrowman) pays the team a surprise visit. Thea (Willa Holland) suspects there is something more behind Oliver’s disappearance and asks Merlyn for a favor. Meanwhile, Ray (Brandon Routh) tests a part of his new suit and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) takes up the mantle of the Black Canary.
