By now, Arrow Season 4 has made little secret of its presence in Coast City, hometown to DC’s Green Lantern, though the emerald knight’s cinematic future seemingly prevents any genuine appearance. Still, Arrow’s teasing of the famed Justice League-r began to border on trolling, and now we may even see the Green Lantern’s ring in the fourth season premiere.

Take this all with a grain of salt, again, as it remains unlikely any Green Lantern character could put in an actual Arrow appearance (Ferris Air has garnered numerous mentions, along with a disappeared “test pilot,” though other major DC figures go on and off the table), while executive producer Marc Guggenheim has offered yet another tease. As if that contextually nonsensical billboard quoting the Green Lantern oath weren’t enough, Guggenheim tells Entertainment Weekly a certain ring might make its way into the premiere:

There is a nod or two [in Coast City]. There is a billboard that people will get a kick out of, and there may or may not be a ring in the season premiere.

Granted, “a ring” could mean any number of things; perhaps someone’s engagement rather than any alien artifact belonging to Abin Sur, but failing to deliver on such a pointed suggestion seems a little too troll-worthy, even for a spoiler-conscious producer. Season 4's flashbacks have been kept largely under wraps, though we know Oliver will undertake some kind of proto-vigilante career, again running afoul of Amanda Waller, and also coming to tangle with the mysterious Shadowspire.

In addition to its Constantine crossover, we know of Arrow Season 4 that the fourth year is expected to somewhat creatively revamp the series after its Season 3 finale saw Oliver retiring the vigilante lifestyle. In addition to a focusing on DC villains H.I.V.E. and Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), Season 4 will also introduce Rutina Wesley, Parker Young, Jeri Ryan’s Jessica Danforth, J.R. Bourne’s Double Down, Echo Kellum’s Mr. Terrific, Alexander Calvert’s Anarky, and White Canary before her Legends of Tomorrow role.

Apart from Wendy Mericle’s elevation to co-showrunner alongside Marc Guggenheim, we also know that Punisher: War Zone director Lexi Alexander will helm an episode, and both Oliver and Diggle will sport new looks. Arrow Season 4 will premiere on October 7, but check out the trailers below, and stand by for the latest!
