When we caught wind that Joshua Cotter, creator of the critically-acclaimed "Skyscrapers of the Midwest," was going to be collecting his early comic strip material from the Kansas City Star in a compilation called "Barbra in the Sky with Neil Diamonds" published by AdHouse Books, we knew we had to share the wealth with a preview of the bizarre, beautiful strips.

Scheduled for a December 4 release at the Brooklyn Comics and Graphics Festival, "Barbara in the Sky with Diamonds" collects Cotter's Kansas City Star work from 2002 - 2007. AdHouse will print an ultra-limited run of 99 individually numbered copies, each packaged with an equally rare print for the price of $39.99.

"Barbra in the Sky with Neil Diamonds" is a little more straightforward than Cotter's last AdHouse release "Driven by Lemons," which acted as a "sketchbook replica of recent multimedia explorations in intuitive narrative." Fans of "Skyscrapers" should have no problem seeing the origins of that particular work in the upcoming collection's interiors, though.
