The Revolution Returns In Bendis And Maleev’s Scarlet #8 [Preview]
We’ve haven’t seen hide nor hair of Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev’s creator-owned inner-city revolutionary comic Scarlet since 2013, but Bendis has always promised that they will return to the series, and now that promise is finally coming true. This May sees the return of Scarlet for three more issues over the course of six weeks which will round out the second arc, beginning with Scarlet #8 on May 4th.
After last issue’s shocking cliffhanger, Scarlet and her crew have taken the major hostage inside City Hall as pro-Scarlet protesters and armed police begin to clash outside. Marvel have provided us with a preview of Bendis & Maleev’s one-woman revolution ahead of its release next month.
If you’ve never read Scarlet or it’s been awhile since you last revisited the series, it follows the life of the titular Scarlet Rue, a woman who has been wrong by society every step of the way and is now leading a revolution against the corrupt forces of power that profit of the less fortunate.
