It’s the fourth day in the month of May here on Earth, and in accordance with the laws set forth a long time ago (read: almost 40 years ago) in the sacred Jedi texts, that means it is time to tell people “May the Fourth be with you” and celebrate Star Wars Day once again!

We Star Wars fans, sci-fi enthusiasts, and just nerds in general do this kind of thing every year, multiple times a year if we’re being perfectly honest, but over the course of the last year, this day has come to mean even more to us. And that’s due, in no small part, to the revitalization and renewed interest in the Star Wars franchise among the hearts and minds of would-be Jedi and Sith Lords of all ages all around the world. Not only did last year see the release of Episode VII: The Force Awakens, which introduced us to new heroes and villains and let us know what happened to some of our classic favorites, but the stage was also set for this year’s Rogue One, which takes place just before the original Star Wars, Episode IV: A New Hope.

But the silver screen wasn’t the only place new Star Wars tales were being told. Following in the footsteps of the very well-received Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which bridged the gap between Episodes II and III, came Star Wars: Rebels. Not only did the show have the daunting task of replacing Clone Wars, but it also had the added pressure of showing audiences a side of the Star Wars universe that hadn’t been seen until now. Set years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, the Emperor and his Galactic Empire continue to tighten their grip during one of the galaxy’s darkest times, and a new cast of characters including a Jedi in hiding, a thief, a pilot, a former bounty hunter, a droid, and an alien that kinda looks like a bald Chewbacca must learn to work together and attempt to survive.

The show is pretty neat, and if you haven’t checked it out yet, hopefully, this collection of fan art for Star Wars: Rebels from around the web will inspire you to give it a try. So take a look, and, of course, may the Force be with you.
