It still remains to be seen if Disney and Marvel’s Big Hero 6 will ever get a second life in theaters, but the upcoming 2017 animated continuation is no slouch when it comes to casting. Not only will stars like Maya Rudolph and Scott Adsit return, so too will Sherlock and The Walking Dead stars join the mix.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, all but T.J. Miller and Damon Wayans Jr. will return from the original film, including Maya Rudolph as Aunt Cass, Jamie Chung as GoGo Tomago, Scott Adsit as Baymax, Ryan Potter as Hiro, Genesis Rodriguez as Honey Lemon, David Shaughnessy as Fred’s butler Heathcliff, and Stan Lee as his father. The Walking Dead star Khary Payton will take over for Wayans as Wasabi, with SNL’s Brooks Wheelan filling in for Miller as Fred.

New to the series are Sherlock star Andrew Scott going equally villainous as “Obake,” Andy Richter as Globby, Jenifer Lewis as Professor Granville, Diedrich Bader as Bluff Dunder, Susan Sullivan as Fred’s mother, Sean Giambrone as Richardson Mole, John Ross Bowie as Mel, and Haley Tju as Karmi.

And so reads the synopsis:

The series picks up immediately following the events in the feature film, and continues the adventures and friendship of 14-year-old tech genius Hiro and his compassionate, cutting-edge robot Baymax. Alongside Hiro and Baymax on their journey are control freak Wasabi, scientist Honey Lemon, fanboy Fred and no-nonsense Go Go, who together form the legendary superhero team, Big Hero 6.

As the new prodigy at San Fransokyo Institute of Technology, Hiro now faces daunting academic challenges and the social trials of being the little man on campus. Off campus, the stakes are raised for the high-tech heroes as they must protect their city from an array of scientifically enhanced villains.

The new series will debut in 2017, so stay tuned for further details.
