Big, Shiny, Classic Cartoon Characters Get Polished Up by Hugh [Art]

Not every illustrated character can emote like someone from the animated Hobbit film with the bulging facial mass of a Family Guy star. An Australia-based artist named Hugh does make a good go at reimagining classic heroes with those kinds of sensibilities on his deviantART account, however.
From Link and Spider-Man to Charlie Brown and Danger Mouse, Hugh's polished-up artwork takes on an anime-ready look of its own, but you can still pick out some famous faces from the Pokémon cartoons and Widget, the World Watcher -- not that more than eight or ten of you out there reading this remember who Widget was, but if you do, you'll love Hugh's tribute the little guy from the Horsehead Nebula.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will likely be recognizable to a much larger audience, as will Earthworm Jim and Darkwing Duck. Take a gander at them below and bask in the nostalgic glory of some Saturday morning 'toons from your past.
