Cinemax’s Robert Kirkman exorcism drama Outcast had a bit of footage to show off at Comic-Con 2015, but with production officially gearing up toward a 2016 premiere, the comic-adapted series has a much fuller cast. Star Trek vet Brent Spiner, The Office alum David Denman and more have joined Outcast in key roles, now that official filming has begun.

Adapted from Skybound comics and greenlit for 10 episodes at an unknown premiere date, Cinemax’s Outcast features Gone Girl star Patrick Fugit in the role of Kyle Barnes, a young man plagued by possession since childhood. Kyle sets out to find answers, in the process uncovering something that could end all life on Earth as we know it.

According to Deadline, Denman will take over the role of Mark Holter from the pilot’s Kip Pardue, husband to Kyle Barnes’ sister Megan, father and a by-the-book small town cop. Mark loves his wife deeply, but his innate sense of justice is challenged by her loyalty to Kyle, whom Mark can’t forgive for his past transgressions.

Melinda McGraw will play Patricia MacCready, a single mother, devout member of Rome’s Light of God Baptist Church and a regular at Reverend Anderson’s church teas, while Grace Zabriskie plays Mildred, one of the old guard of parishioners at Anderson’s church, “full of spit and vinegar.” The Shield alum Catherine Dent plays Janet Anderson, ex-wife to Reverend Anderson, whose marriage was shattered by Anderson’s obsession with battling the forces of darkness, though she still can’t help but feel affection and sympathy for the man she once loved, the father of the her child.

The Americans alum Lee Tergesen will play Blake Morrow, a former police officer on death row for murdering his partner’s wife. Finally, Star Trek: The Next Generation alum Spiner will return to TV as Sidney, who “appears in Rome soon after Kyle and Reverend Anderson successfully exorcise little Joshua Austin, his dapper appearance and smiling demeanor hide a malevolence.”

Also among the cast is Philip Glenister in the hard-drinking, hard-gambling role of Reverend Anderson, a West Virginian evangelical preacher who believes himself soldier in God’s holy war against evil, as well as Annabelle star Gabriel Bateman as a young boy who appears to be possessed by a demon and has a mysterious connection to Kyle. The Guest and You’re Next helmer Adam Wingard will also direct the pilot episode.
