We here at ComicsAlliance haven't exactly made a secret of the fact that we love Colleen Coover. Her art can make anything both adorable and awesome, whether it's dancing ladies, MODOK, or even Tarot: Witch of the Black Rose.

But what you may not know about Coover (unless you caught her recent appearance on War Rocket Ajax or read her ode to Dragon Age right here at CA) is that she loves video games. So much so, in fact, that she decided to devote a week of daily sketches at her website to drawing the denizens of the Mushroom Kingdom from "Super Mario Brothers."

Mario's mustache alone is probably the best thing you'll see all day, but check out the rest of the pictures, as well as art inspired by BioWare's Mass Effect games, after the jump. You will believe that Toad can look tough!

When I asked Coover why she decided to draw the Mario characters, she told me "They're so iconic. I went with Peach originally because I thought she'd be cool as a hot and sassy woman instead of a cute little sprite." And she definitely is.
