I don't know how it happened, but we're living in this weird golden age of licensed comics based on movies and TV shows, and one of the most surprising and fun parts of that was the Bob's Burgers miniseries that kicked off last year. Featuring writers and artists who have worked on the show, each issue was divided into three main sections built around the Belcher kids: A mystery featuring Louise, a "musical" written and performed by Gene, and, in what was perhaps the best thing to happen in comics in 2014, Tina's Erotic Friend Fiction.

It was great, and apparently I'm not the only one who thinks so, because Dynamite announced this week that they're bringing it back in the form of an ongoing series --- and this time it has the addition of Bob's ideal food trucks and Linda's attempts to take a family photo.

The only creators mentioned in Dynamite's initial press release are Loren Bouchard, the show's creator --- and also the co-creator of the truly amazing TV series Home Movies --- and series writer Mike Olsen, who works on the show as a script supervisor, and wrote the delightful Halloween-themed "Fort Night" episode, one of the highlights of the series. After a one-shot debuts on Free Comic Book Day next month, the series will kick off in July with covers by Frank Forte (above), Derek Schroeder (the first two below), Emiko Sawanobori, and Kaya Dzankich.
