It seems DC Comics is keen to spotlight the darker side of its publishing library at this year's Comic-Con International in San Diego, as the publisher's transmitted a number of distinctly evil-themed materials in support of future releases Forever Evil -- the forthcoming DC Comics publishing event focusing on villains -- and Necessary Evil, a DC Entertainment documentary about the history of DC's rogues' gallery.

Available on Blu-ray and DVD on October 25, Necessary Evil features interviews with writer and DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns, DC Comics Co-Publishers Jim Lee and Dan DiDio, prospective Justice League Dark movie director Guillermo del Toro, Warner Bros. Animation voice director Andrea Romano, Superman: The Movie director Richard Donner, Batman: The Animated Series star Kevin Conroy,  and actor Scott Porter, who plays Cyclops in a couple of Marvel Anime productions... curious.

Coming in September is DC Comics Forever Evil event, whereby every superhero title in DC's New 52 line will be taken over by a supervillain. The publisher's released the following teasers for Nightwing, Green Lantern and Teen Titans.
