Exclusive: Titan Unveils 'Best of British' Month in May

As a Briton living overseas, I am always delighted to see people from the old country shamelessly milk their Britishness to sell themselves abroad. The more we ham it up, the more people seem to love it, as evidenced by the fact that Eddie Redmayne has an Oscar now. So it's in that same glorious spirit that Titan Comics is playing up the "Downton Abbey and crumpets" angle for its May comics promotion, Best of British, featuring new and classic works from a roster of creators that includes Peter Milligan, Si Spurrier, Alan Martin, D'Israeli, and the late Brett Ewins. Titan promises several events and promotions during its Best of British month, kicking off with Free Comic Book Day on March 2nd. In addition to recently launched monthly titles Scarlett Couture, Death Sentence, and Surface Tension, Titan is releasing or re-releasing a number of collected editions, including David Hitchock's sumptuous Gothic horror Springheeled Jack, Milligan and Ewins' enduring classic Johnny Nemo, and the latest adventures of Tank Girl from Alan Martin and Warwick Johnson Cadwell.
