Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy Arrive this April, Bringing Thanos With Them
After announcing Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series in December, Telltale Games has been very secretive about when and where the spacefaring adventures of Marvel's reluctant heroes would arrive. With nothing but a vague hint that we'd be able to hang with the gang in 2017, many of us eagerly awaited the next details on the developer's first Marvel Comics video game.
Well wonder no more, true believers. Telltale's Guardians are arriving in just a few short weeks this April.
Beginning on April 18, you'll be able to enjoy the company of Star-Lord, Groot, Gamora, Drax and Rocket as they travel the galaxy trying to stop a threat the likes of which we haven't seen before. Well, we probably have seen a threat like this before because this isn't exactly the Guardians' first rodeo, but we certainly haven't seen it in a Guardians video game. You know, because there hasn't been a specific Guardians video game before.
What's more, it looks like the Mad Titan himself will be appearing in the game in some capacity. Though Thanos and the Guardians of the Galaxy all have a more cinematic bent to their designs, the big bad's inclusion here makes me think this series won't tie as closely to the movie escapades of the Milano crew as originally thought. Still, that Thanos will at least play some part in Telltale's series speaks to the scale and scope of this story.
Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, Episode One - "Tangled Up in Blue" will be available digitally on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, iOS, and Android next month. I'll leave it to you Bob Dylan experts to explain what that title might mean for our intergalactic friends. A season pass disc version is due to arrive on May 2, wherein you'll gain access to the remaining episodes as they release digitally.
