Between popping Blake Lively's perfect teeth onto a Star Sapphire action figure and blending Tiger Woods with Speedy, I wholeheartedly endorse Photoshop fusion for the purpose of parody. That's why a pin-up posted this weekend by Steven Sanders, artist of Marvel's "S.W.O.R.D." had me chuckling over my Sunday afternoon brunch (okay, it was just a really late breakfast).

But why would the stone-cold Brand strike such a pose? Well, she wouldn't exactly. Turns out it's the result of a prankster's Photoshop skills in the Marvel U.

"The pinup is supposed to be part of an 'AGENT BRAND WANTS YOU!' WWII style pin-up/recruitment poster for 'S.W.O.R.D.' that [Brand's half-brother] Lothi made as a way to get under Brand's skin. The larger picture would have that pinup as a poster on a wall in the Peak, with Brand and Beast catching Lothi hanging them up, his arms full of rolled up posters and a 'Photoshop For Dummies' book. Implication is there that they are about to beat the tar out of him. I just haven't had time to draw the rest yet," explained Sanders.

Perhaps he'll have time soon - maybe after he and Kieron Gillen's "S.W.O.R.D." #3 hits the stands this week.

For a beginner, Lothi is pretty good. Just sayin'.
