The show may be titled Jessica Jones, but the second of Netflix’s series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will also introduce another TV version of an important comic book character in the form of Luke Cage. If you know nothing about Luke Cage and want to enjoy the series completely fresh, do yourself a favor and close this window. If you already know what Mr. Cage is all about, scroll on down for our first look at the character in action!

Jessica Jones (formerly titled AKA Jessica Jones) stars Krysten Ritter as a retired superhero who hangs up her tights after a seriously traumatic incident and becomes a private investigator. Naturally, her life doesn’t get any easier. Like her comic book counterpart, she eventually finds an ally and love interest in Luke Cage (Mike Colter) ... who also just so happens to be a superhero. With his unbreakable skin and super strength, Cage is a streetwise brawler who has made a business out of being a superhero. After all, his iconic comic series is actually called Hero For Hire.

New images from Jessica Jones have emerged and they reveal a scene where Cage exits a building engulfed in flames, strolling casually as the raging inferno fails to harm him in anyway. Colter already looks like the spitting image of his comic book counterpart, so seeing his invulnerability on display is enough to send chills down your spine. Marvel has always had a knack for casting and they may have struck gold again.
