Archie Reveals Sauvage, Lagace, And Hack’s Variant Covers For ‘Josie And The Pussycats’ #1
It took the folks at Archie Comics a while to get into the whole variant covers game. If memory serves, they only did their first one within the last ten years or so, but nowadays, they're making up for lost time! With every new series that gets announced, Archie goes all-out in getting some of my favorite artists to provide variants --- and when the all-new Josie and the Pussycats #1 hits shelves in September, it's not going to be an exception.
Hack, Lagace and Sauvage certainly aren't newcomers to Archie. Hack, of course, is the regular artist of the current horror-themed Chilling Adventures of Sabrina series, while Lagace is likely best known to Archie fans as the artist of the amazing gender-swapped "Reversedale" story from a few years back.
Sauvage has yet to do interiors for the company, but has been seen on covers of the rebooted Archie. This is probably the first time she's done one that might start rumors that Melody died in the '70s and was replaced by a lookalike.
Here's the solicitation for the first issue of the new series:
