‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ Adds Channing Tatum, May Be the Best Sequel Ever
As if the cast of Kingsman: The Golden Circle couldn’t get any better, Channing Tatum has up and joined the cast of Matthew Vaughn’s sequel to 2015’s breakout action hit. Tatum made the announcement via Twitter, where he also shared a teaser poster hinting at his part in the upcoming film, which also recently added Game of Thrones favorite Pedro Pascal.
Here’s Tatum’s very Tatum-esque tweet, along with that poster:
It’s unclear if Tatum is playing a good guy or a bad guy in Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which features Taron Egerton reprising the role of Eggsy, the street kid-turned-secret agent. The sequel will follow Eggsy and Merlin (Mark Strong) as they flee London following a devastating attack on Kingsman HQ and seek refuge with the American version of the Kingsman agency, headed up by Halle Berry (who reportedly signed on for two films).
Julianne Moore will play the film’s new villain, with Pedro Pascal as a protagonist named Jack Daniels. Elton John is reportedly in talks for a key role in The Golden Circle, with Colin Firth’s surprising return basically confirmed by Matthew Vaughn.
Tatum’s Gambit film was recently delayed and removed from Fox’s upcoming slate, but it appears as though the actor is keeping busy: in addition to his Kingsman casting, Tatum is reprising his role for the 21 Jump Street / Men in Black crossover film titled MIB 23.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle hits theaters on June 16, 2017.
