Step Into The Mind Of Marc Spector In Lemire, Smallwood & Bellaire’s ‘Moon Knight’ #1 [Preview]
Since its revitalization at the hands of Warren Ellis, Declan Shalvey & Jordie Bellaire, Moon Knight has been one of Marvel’s standout characters and his book has become a playground for writers to tell a different kind of superhero story within the Marvel Universe. This April, Jeff Lemire joins previous Moon Knight artist Greg Smallwood for a brand new volume, and we’ve got a first look at pages from Moon Knight #1.
The new volume of Moon Knight sees Marc Spector’s stranded in an "insane asylum" (to quote the solicitation) with no powers and a lot of questions. Hopefully the book is as tactful towards mental health as we know Lemire can be from his creator owned work, because the use of the words “insane asylum” seems outdated and stigmatizing, to say the least. It’s also curious that the solicitation fails to mention the return of Jordie Bellaire to the book, as it was her colors that defined the look of the previous volume.
Will the new Moon Knight live up to the previous volume? Check out the preview below and decide for yourself.
