This weekend marked the opening of one of athleticism's finest traditions. Oh, and the 2010 Winter Olympics started too [*ba-dump!*]. I'm specifically addressing, of course, the launch of Marvel.com's "Marvel Super Heroes: What The--?!" coverage of its own 2010 Marvel Winter Games.

Hosted by the M.O.D.O.K. and The Gremlin, the games have assembled the Marvel U's greatest athletes from around the globe to compete in its Olympic-style events. So far the series has resulted in a reimagined (and surprisingly sympathetic) origin for The Gremlin, a crushing ski demonstration starring M.O.D.O.K. and a medal-worthy performance by the apparently aptly named Bi-Beast.

This parody series may not directly relay the true competitive spirit of the literal Olympic games, but there are certainly more mutants, gods and monsters in the mix. I can't even begin to imagine how much mutant growth hormone has turned up in those drug tests.

Check out the first three installments of the series after the jump.
