Miles Teves' film credits include contributions to everything from sci-fi classics like "Total Recall" and "RoboCop" to a sizeable chunk of modern comic book movie staples such as "Spider-Man" and "Watchmen." Dive into his concept art library, though, and you'll see some dramatically different takes on iconic heroes and villains that never made it to the screen.

Teves' portfolio on his Teves Design Studio website not only confirms that he had a solid vision in mind for the Green Goblin that would have chilled audiences by the theater-load; he also showcases some unseen alternative looks for the Silver Surfer and Gael García Bernal as Blackheart in "Ghost Rider."

Give his artwork a few clicks, however, and you will definitely get a few glimpses into alternate realities that never came into being for good reason. Take for example his mock-up of Mel Gibson as Wolverine. You should sleep better knowing that we all dodged that bullet, as well as the extra-thorny rendition of Poison Ivy for "Batman and Robin," even if the film itself still managed to penetrate our box offices.

Sound off with your own words of thanks and regret after you scope out some of his work below.
