DC's Latest Kentucky Fried Chicken Promo Comic Is Amazing
DC's latest promotional comic for KFC is a sequel to last year's "The Colonel of Two Worlds," in which Colonel Sanders teamed up with the Flash to fight Colonel Sunder, his evil counterpart from Earth-3. It involves an attack from Sunder that causes eleven of the Colonels Sanders of the Multiverse to each forget all but one of the Eleven Secret Herbs and Spices, meaning that they have to all team up to remember how to make fried chicken, including the Colonel Sanders of the Kingdom Come universe or the far-off future of the Legion of Superheroes. It posits that Colonel Sanders and Kentucky Fried Chicken are multiversal constants within the construct posited by Multiversity and Convergence, on par with Superman and Batman. And it is the single best DC comic of the year.

'Sonic the Hedgehog' Editor Vincent Lovallo Makes His Pitch!
I am what you could charitably call very skeptical of Sonic the Hedgehog in all of his various forms. I wasn't a Sega kid, so I never got into the games when I was young, and despite the fact that he's been a constant presence in the world of comics since 1993, that's a vast swath of storytelling that I've never engaged with. Now, however, it might finally be time to take the plunge. For the past two weeks, there's been a massive collection of Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog comics available at Humble Bundle, allowing readers to pay what they want for a new starting point and support the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. It might be the tipping point, but while I remain a little reluctant, I've given Sonic editor Vincent Lovallo the chance to convince me once and for all to read these comics.

Well now we know what those "I Quit" promo images were all about. Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, and Nova are quitting the Avengers, leaving the All-New All-Different team without so much of the new and different. Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we now know for sure that they're forming their own team along with Cyclops (the teenage version), Hulk (Amadeus Cho, that is) and Viv Vision (the daughter from Tom King's Vision book). And for once the team that splits off from the Avengers isn't called the Something Something Avengers. These young heroes are taking on a name Marvel hasn't used in decades, the Champions.

The miniseries, also titled Voltron: Legendary Defender, is written by show Tim Hedrick (the animated series’ head writer) and Mitch Iverson (also a writer on the show) and illustrated by Digital Art Chefs, the show’s development studio. Ranger Station Episode 43: Something Fishy
With 800 episodes over the course of 22 years, the Power Rangers television show is arguably the single most successful live-action superhero franchise of all time, and certainly one of the strangest. Adapted from Japan's long-running Super Sentai series, created by manga legend Shotaro Ishinomori, the Power Rangers combined the giant robots and monsters of their Japanese counterpart with a completely different set of secret identities and problems, and became a pop cultural phenomenon. That's why we're looking back with an in-depth guide to Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, including its source material, Kyuoryu Sentai Zyuranger, in ComicsAlliance's Ranger Station! This week, Billy conquers a fear that resulted from what is, by any reasonable standard of superheroes, the mildest possible childhood trauma.

There are of course books from other publishers also doing well, with Marvel's The Vision and Boom's Giant Days both receiving multiple nominations. Standbys like Saga and Lumberjanes are also represented.
