What you’re seeing above is a toy ad for the new Power Rangers movie, which has no shortage of surprises when it comes to character makeovers — like Elizabeth Banks’ avant garde Mortal Kombat take on Rita Repulsa, or the quasi-Cronenbergian Alpha-5. But not just gold; he’s like a gargoyle in a superhero body horror movie, but like, if that torture-melted humanoid was dipped in gold. Directed by Dean Israelite (Project Almanac), the new Power Rangers movie certainly doesn’t look boring so far, and boasts a diverse central cast of protagonists: Dacre Montgomery as Jason the Red Ranger, R.J. Cyler as Billy the Blue Ranger, Becky G as Trini the Yellow Ranger, Ludi Lin as Zack the Black Ranger and Naomi Scott as Kimberly the Pink Ranger. They’re joined by Banks as Rita Repulsa, Bill Hader as the voice of Alpha-5 and Bryan Cranston as Zordon.

Power Rangers hits theaters on March 24, 2017.
