Okay, imagine you're a child who's really into Power Rangers -- if you're around my age, it probably won't be too difficult. It's Christmas morning, and you open the biggest, brightest package beneath the tree, and there, staring unblinking back at you, is the severed head of Jason, the Red Ranger.

Wait! Wait! Stop crying! It's okay, it's not really a severed head! It's just The Power Rangers Legacy Limited Edition Box Set, collecting 20 seasons of Power Rangers on 98 DVDs stored a replica of the Red Ranger's helmet that's coming out for pre-order! Nobody killed Jason! He's a fireman now, I think!

Here at ComicsAlliance, we've been waiting to find out more about this thing since Shout! Factory teased it in the run-up to San Diego's Comic-Con International. The set collects every episode of Power Rangers for the first 20 years, starting with Mighty Morphin and going all the way up through Megaforce, plus six additional discs of bonus content -- including new stuff and "archival" footage that one assumes would include that fan-club VHS from 1994 -- and a 100-page book about the series.

The set is limited to 2,000 copies, will be available for pre-order on September 10 at PowerRangersLegacyCollection.com, and it'll set you back a cool $650. But really, when you consider that you'll get to experience the dizzying highs of In Space, the tooth-grinding lows of Turbo and that this price also includes free shipping, can you really afford to not get it? For me? I don't think so.

Check out the video below for more information, as well as the 25th anniversary release of a Mystery Science Theater 3000 collection, which I understand is a show about puppets who ruin movies.
