Sanford Greene Heads To Kickstarter To Fund His Latest Sketchbook
I first came across Sanford Greene's art in a Wonder Girl miniseries he illustrated for DC Comics in 2007, and I've been a fan ever since. In the years since that story was published, it's been a pleasure to watch his growth as an artist. There's a kinetic aspect to his work, and a kind of joy, that's charming and undeniable. Greene's designs are imaginative; he completely embraces the medium, and that's evident in everything he illustrates. Simply put, his art is fun.
So whenever Greene has a new project out, it's worth taking a look, and last week the cartoonist launched a new Kickstarter campaign to fund the fourth volume in his Deadline series of sketchbooks.
Greene's previous work includes the aforementioned Wonder Girl miniseries, his creator owned Rotten Apple series first published in Dark Horse Presents, and various projects for DC and Marvel, as well as design and animation work for Nickelodeon, Disney, Sega, Warner Bros., Hasbro and more. Greene promises this latest sketchbook, titled Deadline Volume 4, has more material in it than any of the previous volumes in the series, with plenty of never before seen art. Rewards include $15 for a PDF of the book, $25 for PDFs of all four Deadline volumes, $50 for all that plus a signed softcover edition of volume four, and more.
