Even though "Brightest Day" is in full swing, chances are even the most devoted of DC readers might not have caught every single tie-in from its preceding chapter "Blackest Night." For those who missed out on the minutiae, J. Caleb Mozzocco has a very thorough (and hilarious) look at what could very well be considered the storyline's most inessential installment.

The unlikely tie-in went down in January's "Scooby Doo" #150, in which Mystery, Inc. pays a visit to a haunted castle plagued by the titular "The Blackest Knight." In addition to a green-lanterned cover, Mozzocco points out that the story (one of two shorts in the issue) by Sholly Fisch and artist Fabio Laguna includes multiple punny references to GL lore and possibly an unnamed cameo by Geoff Johns himself.

Mozzocco's evidence of the BN/GL connections in "Scooby Doo" makes for a thoroughly enjoyable read that has me wondering just how much I'm missing out on a monthly basis. At just $2.50 for 32 pages, maybe 'Doo is worth the monthly investment for further in-joke awesomeness?[Via Every Day is Like Wednesday]
