"Smile," the true story of how Raina Telgemeier ("The Babysitters Club," "X-Men: Misfits") knocked out her two front teeth when she was in 6th grade, is coming out this week as a graphic novel from Scholastic, after originally posting installments online. Based on what I've read, expect a fantastic little book that deals not only with a particularly embarrassing and difficult ordeal during adolescence, but also the even more embarrassing and difficult ordeal that is adolescence. This book took me right back to being 11-13 years old in a way that captures the anxiety and uncertainty of junior high school, but still manages to be more sweet than painful. Check out the preview trailer after the jump.
