The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade has its share of awesome balloons, but perhaps the most iconic inflatable for comic fans has been absent for more than a decade.

But no more! A modernized version of Spider-Man's webcrawling form is set to make his Macy's debut Thursday, November 26 starting at 9 a.m.

The original Spider-Man float was retired back in 1998, which is strange considering the onslaught of hugely successful Hollywood films that would follow starting in 2002. Why Marvel waited to bring the float back until two years after "Spider-Man 3" is a mystery, but one I'll gladly discard in favor of childish excitement.

I might even wake up before noon to watch the parade this year...but if I don't, I have the benefit of knowing the balloon will be around through 2011. After the jump, you too can relive the awesomeness of Spider-Man's parade heyday from 20 years ago:

Oh yeah. This whole act should return. Especially the "Back to The Future theme!"
