‘Suicide Squad’ Logo Revealed, But We’re Probably Not Going to See That Comic-Con Footage
One of yesterday’s highlights at Comic-Con — amidst the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice footage and the insanely crowd-pleasing Deadpool reel — was the first teaser for Suicide Squad. If you were waiting for Warner Bros. to put that footage online, you can stop, as it appears that the studio has no intention of releasing it anytime soon. We do have one thing, though: the official Suicide Squad logo.
Soon to be seen on T-shirts and hats at Hot Topic locations nationwide, here is the Suicide Squad logo:
Aww, it looks friendly.
We had a chance to see the footage yesterday (a leaked version is floating around online), in which Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn is a dominant presence, introduced hanging upside down in a cage and playing with her very long hair. Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller explains her mission over dinner: she wants to use very bad people to defeat incredibly evil people, while nodding to Superman as a reason for why these villains have been crawling out from the shadows. The footage also gives us a look at Will Smith’s Deadshot and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s Killer Croc, with Jared Leto’s Joker popping up at the end.
Surprisingly, he doesn’t sound ridiculous — not giving him a distinctive voice is a smart move on behalf of Leto and director David Ayer; his outlandish looks are enough. We also learn that Harley Quinn had a relationship with Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flag before she totally lost her marbles.
Suicide Squad doesn’t hit theaters until August 5, 2016, but we may still see an official teaser release before the end of the year.
