New ‘Supergirl’ 2017 Trailer Brings Back Livewire, Dominators and More
We wouldn’t call the new Supergirl extended 2017 trailer full of “friendly” faces, but certainly familiar ones. Not only is Livewire back, and ready to murder her super-nemesis, but the new sneak peek reveals a glimpse of those pesky crossover Dominators wreaking some additional havoc within the Supergirl universe.
The CW dropped an extended trailer for Supergirl’s January 23 premiere, with a strong emphasis on Brit Morgan’s Leslie “Livewire” Willis making her Season 2 debut. It also looks like Kevin Smith’s “Supergirl Lives” episode will feature a Dominator in its midst, if not a whole host of alien baddies.
Meanwhile, so reads the return synopsis:
KEVIN SMITH DIRECTS; ROULETTE RETURNS
Kara (Melissa Benoist) is moved by the story of a missing woman named Izzy (guest star Harley Quinn Smith) and decides to investigate despite Snapper Carr’s (guest star Ian Gomez) order to leave it alone. Kara takes Mon-El (Chris Wood) with her to the last place Izzy was seen and the duo find themselves thrust through a portal to another planet, Slaver’s Moon, where the downtrodden are sold as slaves. The leader of the trafficking ring is none other than Roulette (guest star Dichen Lachman).
To make matters worse, Slaver’s Moon has a red sun, which means Kara and Mon-El are stripped of their powers and stuck on the planet with no way home. Meanwhile, back on Earth, Alex (Chyler Leigh) blames herself for Kara’s disappearance, fearing she’s become too focused on her new relationship with Maggie (guest star Floriana Lima) and too complacent in watching out for her sister.
Also on deck for the back half of Supergirl Season 2, we know DC trickster Mr. Mxyzptlk will be dropping by for two episodes, while another pair of episodes will see Kara re-teaming with The Flash for a musical extravaganza. We’ll also revisit Metallo, and hopefully check in with Calista Flockhart’s Cat Grant.
In the meantime, watch the trailer for Kevin Smith’s “Supergirl Lives” below, and stay tuned for more from Supergirl’s 2017 return.
