Amazon’s live-action reboot of The Tick obviously went over well enough to earn a full series pickup, though fans were admittedly less impressed with star Peter Serafinowicz’s hyper-detailed costume. Now that production on the full series has officially gotten underway, however, the Guardians of the Galaxy star is suiting up in something a bit less conspicuous.
It was early last year that Sandman and American Gods creator Neil Gaiman finally got the chance to pitch a TV adaptation of his first novel Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch. Now, Amazon has finally picked up the tab for 2018, green-lighting a six-part limited series.
The moment Amazon confirmed The Tick for another live-action update, superhero fans had to wonder if the big blue bug would be getting the ol’ gritty Dark Knight treatment. The lighting is just as dark (they do share a cinematographer), but our first full clips from the new series give Peter Serafinowicz a spoonful of that trademark bluster.
Our first look at Amazon’s The Tick reboot didn’t exactly get the ol’ “Spoon!” chanting, but the streaming service’s bluest hero looks to be doing much better in the second attempt. Check out the full roster of heroes and villains in new photos from the Ben Endlund reboot, including Arthur, Jackie Earle Haley’s “The Terror” and more!
Kevin Smith’s TV renaissance (let’s not give it a cute name) has taken us from The Flash to Mallrats and back again, and it looks as if The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension TV series is taking off as well. Amazon is reportedly close to a series order, with Smith himself likely to announce at Comic-Con.
Just when you thought Comic-Con 2016 wouldn’t bring you enough superheroes, it’s Amazon’s live-action adaptation of The Tick! Yes, the big blue bug is back, as Amazon sets an August debut with the first photos of Peter Serafinowicz in costume, along with release dates for Jean Claude Van Damme’s new series and more.
